Welcome to Soul Asylum

Today we will journey through all the ages / abilities in one piece, showcasing all the levels of I GOT SOUL Dance Company, also presenting S.Y.D.C as the youth, S.Y.D.Crew and I Got Soul House of Rebels.

Every year we produce a showcase in London and invite professionals from within the industry to come and see the high level of talent that exists within our Company and Crew. This showcases amazingly talented dancers with a huge variety of ages and versatility. Crossing many genres of dance from contemporary, acro to breaking, through to commercial street. Soul Asylum is the perfect themed piece expressing unity, freedom and release from the mundane that can often trap our minds. Soul Asylum is a happy place where individuality is accepted, encouraged and is our version of a Soul Army.

Many past company members have been plucked out by these very showcases. Colleges, choreographers, directors and music industry pros have always been present and commended the work of the cast.

I Got Soul Performing Arts has been running for over 30 years from our base in Ruislip, Middlesex. I GOT SOUL Youth Dance Company was created by principals Sam and Alexia McAvoy in 2003 as a platform for the more progressed students of Soul to showcase their talents to industry professionals. A natural progression led to debuting our crews at these showcases as well.

Professional credits include Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, X Factor, The Brit Awards with Ed Sheeran, Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice Kids, Strictly Does The Full Monty, Pringles TV advert, West End productions of Cinderella, Dreamgirls, The Lion King, Frozen and The Bodyguard, film productions of Wonka, Wicked and Matilda, Red Bull Dance Your Style, Dance Unite, Red Bull BCOne, Warner Bros Park, music videos, Royal Albert Hall... to name a few.

Our breakers, aka House of Rebels, have also received high honours of their own and are now being recognised within the breaking community. They are coached by Lee Crowley, aka B-Boy "Reckless Lee".
